Son Of Sound returns with a fresh take on a forgotten genre in New York electronic music history. Freestyle music, much like Hip-Hop, was a “first-love” for many a young producer / DJ growing up in 1980s New York City. La Oportunidad brilliantly bridges the gap between vintage New York Freestyle production and contemporary Latin, Reggaeton and Hip-Hop.

Henry religiously spent every Friday night at Hearthrobs (formerly The Fun House) in the mid 1980s where a young “Little” Louie Vega ruled the roost and masterfully curated sets laced with Freestyle, Funk, New-Wave, Break Beats, Disco and of course early House Music.

It’s only fitting that he come full circle with an offering that captured what it felt like to be on that dance-floor on 526 West 26th street. Freestyle music was enjoyed by many, but widely adopted and creatively controlled by New York urban-latino youth. The choice of a contemporary vocal in Spanish is fitting and a nod to today's urban-latino music styles.
