District 30 label founder Henry Maldonado delivers a Bandcamp exclusive 5-track EP under his Son Of Sound moniker entitled "For The Few".

More New York grit, off-centered twisted production and all things back-room underground can be expected with this one. "It All Comes Down To This" is a driving, percussive-laced sweat producing battle theme. This one is definitely for the dancers with it’s droning underlying tones, eerie subliminal preaching and driving baseline that just seems to show up at the right moment.

"This Scent Cherry" draws from funk, soul and hip-hop while packaged in a 2-step mid-tempo drum groove that’s well suited for just about any soulful affair. "Revolutions" is a traditional deep house groover with elements that lend itself to ‘80s Larry Heard. A sparse bassline hits hard and does just enough to bring all the elements together nicely. "Go Get Yours" brings in some of the disco elements synonymous with some of Son Of Sound’s productions. This one is a 2-parter with lots of MPC style sample chops and crafty sample manipulation.

The track opens up and becomes more musical with soulful Rhodes noodling placed over a driving bassline. "Talking All Night Lately" is yet another chopped up sample groover that comes together as soulful yet blissful dance-floor magic.
